Overnattingsbesoek og koseligheter!

Sense 304 looked like this after wednesdays rain, the past days we've had a sleepover party in our room. Kelsey and Palome have been here, Katie and Savanna have been sleeping at Jaime and Amanda (our staff) 's room, and Kacey has been in 302. It's all good... Here's the story:
In Mexico everything floods when it rains. Everything. Our laundry room is basically a lake everytime there's something falling from the sky, and the roads are just.. yeah, water. anyways. I think the houses around here a build to be able to leak. While in Norway, we freak out if something is leaking, they are here totally calm and just laughs at the whole thing. The first days we were here it was raining, and a part of the 3. floor got flooded. So, some of the builders with Homes Of Hope here decided they wanted to do something about it (so they didnt have to clean up the mess all the time...). So they're redoing the whole roof. As I've learned now, you cant to a part of a roof, you have to do the whole thing if you're going to do it... So yeah... The roof is pretty big, and it started raining before they were done... Sam (our DTS leaders wife) went around just to inspect, and while she was in 305, the whole roof in the bathroom fell down on her... So we got a job to do...

This weekend I had to do breakfast cleanup at 8 on saturday and breakfast prep at 6 on sunday, so I did NOT sleep in, instead I had 2 very long days, where I got to do a whole lot of stuff... I did my laundry actually, and I was drying my clotes from 7 am to 12:30 before it was dry... Yeah, something was wrong... Dunno what...

The past week our speaker var Kenny Peavy and it was pretty much just AWESOME. I dont think Ive cried this much sense....forever, but it was oh so good! This week is it Dean Sherman who's the speaker, and im pretty sure it will be a good week. We've had 3 hours with him now, and he's cool, and likes the Norwegian Brown Cheese. Yeah.

But guys, I'm having an amazing time... Maybe Ill just stay here. It's sooo much fun, and I love the mexican people. We have some mexican people at the base (of course), and this past week we've gotten to know many of them a lot better. They're fun!!! Lots of fun!

Ok, enjoy the pics, Im off!

update from mexico.
still having a blast, still learning, still excited.
i got a new job. im cleaning apparements. yes. im all over the floors and kitchens here, ashley gets to do the toilets. yeah! 3 times a week. i think God is trying to teach me something... it ok though. thats my workduty...
we're eating a lot here... Breakfast at 7:30, 2 days a week its warm, the other days its cerial and muffins. like hardcore chocolate muffins. its dicusting! they tast good, but thats waaaay to early in the morning. Then we have intercession or staff meetings from around 8:15, and then classes after that to 10:30, then we have about 20 min break with snacks. chips, vegetables with ranch, cookie... you name it. I like the vegetables without the ranch... then we have classes again, to 12:20, when we eat again. Warm lunch. After lunch we have smallgroups, exercise, work duties, spanish class or lokal ministry. Its pretty sweet. Then at 5:30 its dinner - always reeeally good! and then after that we have some more stuff going on. Mondays are outreach prep, tuesdays and thursdays are free, wednesday community night and fridays we go down to the red light district and work there. Its called the Baijo. Its pretty sweet. Not really. We cant wear and jewlery, and none of the blonds can go alone. most of the people there are drunk, and a couple comes over and tells us to leave every time, cause its too dangerous. yeah.

I really like it here, i really do! Its buzy but good. this weekend we're having teams come down and build houses with Homes Of Hope. Its cool. I'm not going out this time, in stead I'm going to cook dinner for them and serve tomorrow. The people that are coming down here this weekend are pretty rich, so they stay at a hotel down town, so the only meal they are going to have here is the dinner tomorrow... so yeah.. its ok.

well then, have a good weekend. Me and Alicia are going out to exercise to get rid of the food.

Hola amigos,

just a small update!

This week has been buzy. Lectures has started, it's alot of fun, and the teachers (and teaching) are amazing!!! We've also been at La Bufadora, had games night, shared testemonies and a lot, lot more!! Some of the lokal mexicans (who only talkes spanish, btw) took some of us out walking, so we could see ensenada. Its pretty!
Mexico beautiful! The people are nice, the streets are filled with garbage, families of 8 have only one room in their house, but a new flatscreen TV with digital cabel, but that is a part of it all! The base is pretty, its pink, its big and there are so many cool people here. Yes, we have 2 guys sleeping in our garbage-bin outside (which I've gotten to see a lot, sense my job for this week is to bring out the garbage), we cant trow toiletpaper in the toilet, we get sick of the water and its some pretty early mornings. But inside the base we focuse on other things... It might sound upsurd! But we do... and 3 times a week, and some weekend, we'll be going outside theese high walls, meeting people and talk to them. And then we can fokus on that. Thank God! Its a hard life for some... I've been blessed! This DTS teached me a bunch of stuff, not only about God, but also about life...

This weekend is off, but next weekend we'll be doing some job with Homes Of Hope. Some will be building, others prepare dinner and lunch... Work with meaning!! Yes..

Ok, so one of the first days here, a mexican band came in and started singing for us... Haha... Here's some pics, and a video, so just enjoy...

life's good!
